To use AV receiver or not to use AV receiver for unconverting.? - best upconverting receiver
It is a question of installing home theater rookie.
This is what I have:
1. High-definition (1080p) - 2 HDMI (in), 1 HDMI (out)
2. Upscaling DVD Player (1080i) - HDMI
3. Comcast Digital Cable HDTV DVR.
4. PC with VGA port.
5. 6 speakers (front, rear, center + subwoofer)
6. With a view to buy an AV receiver (mine, the only cooked)
I think the connection of the DVR, DVD to TV with HDMI, PC and TV with VGA, sound from a PC to export to the TV via analogue cable, then the sound to a receiver with an optical cable.
Question:
All new AV receivers have upscaling and several HDMIs. Times is more "fashionable" to connect all your AV receiver and only one HDMI input on your HDTV.
What is the difference between my situation and everything that AV Receiver HDMI TV then?
What are the pros and cons?

HDMI can carry the HD AV receiver, but if you connect directly to your TV, you must also link with other Coaxial / Optical S / PDIF Receiver AV multi-channel audio signals.
Some TVs will not pass through DD on HDMI, but it happens. To check your TV guide and user specifications carefully.
When you go through the AV receiver, even for video, have fewer problems with lip synchronization.
However, do not take the upconversion on the receiver, unless you know who is really good! Leave the TV is not the video processing.
